Cultural considerations, Identity & Belonging

Therapy offers a supportive space to explore the different parts of your identity, bridge gaps between worlds or cultures, and better understand your sense of belonging. Examples of how this might show up in therapy includes:

➤ Exploring the impact of culture, faith, and your lived experiences

âž¤ Building confidence in expressing your authentic identity

âž¤ Reconnecting with cultural roots, spirituality, or other parts of yourself

âž¤ Managing guilt or pressure tied to cultural or family roles

âž¤ Understanding the impact of intergenerational trauma

âž¤ Struggling to find a sense of home or belonging in new environments

âž¤ Managing feelings of disconnect from your cultural community or traditions, and acceptance around creating new traditions

âž¤ Exploring identity and a sense of belonging after immigration or relocation

âž¤ Processing experiences of discrimination, racism, and/or microaggressions

âž¤ Experiencing cultural differences within relationships

âž¤ Feeling pulled between family expectations and personal values

I value cultural context and understand the importance of feeling a sense of belonging, whether that's within society, family, friendships, or culture. I bring cultural sensitivity into therapy and aim to support you in building a stronger connection with yourself. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to learn more about booking a session.
